Who is eligible?

The person receiving services must be a resident of Pickaway County who has been diagnosed with a developmental disability or delay before the age of 22.

 

What are the qualifications?

Children birth to age 3

Children who have at least one developmental delay or an established risk for a developmental delay are eligible for our Early Childhood services.  More information can be found at HERE.  To make a referral click HERE.

 

Children 3 to 6 years old

Children age 3 to 6 who have at least two developmental delays or one develomental delay and an IEP or a developmental diagnosis are eligible to receive services provided by, or paid for by our board.

 

Children/Young Adults 6-24 years old

A developmental disability and substantial functional limitations in at least three of the following areas of major life activity

  • Capacity for economic self-sufficiency (age16-24 only)

  • Self-care

  • Receptive and expressive language

  • Learning

  • Mobility

  • Self-direction 

  • Capacity for independent living

 

Adults age 25 and older

A developmental disability and substantial functional limitations in at least three of the following areas of major life activity

     

      Capacity for economic self-sufficiency

  • Self-care 

  • Receptive and expressive language 

  • Learning 

  • Mobility 

  • Self-direction

  • Capacity for independent living

  •  

 It is important to note that developmental disabilities must be assessed by a licensed psychologist and/or physician. Additionally, functional limitations are evaluated through completion of a level of care screening tool.
